By Schmoel Yitzhak

For many years during the 1940s one of the most common novelties in
American stores was called a "ouija board."

Its promise was simple enough; by moving ones hands across the
lettered panel with a special device one could discern the future.

Like the magician's crystal ball and tea leaves read by a "reader,"
results from the "ouija" were debatable at best and having the
approximate prediction value of messages in Chinese fortune cookies.

With Yom Kippur upon us and the arrival of our New Year, predicting
the future of the Middle East is both fascinating and useless at the
same time.

Then, again there are certainties:

* VALUE OF A FENCE: Following the last intifada Israel's leaders came
to the conclusion that terrorist acts emanating from the Arab side
could be useful. A fence was erected and the results have been better
than Jerusalem could have dreamed. Now it appears that threats from
the Egyptian Sinai have inspired the Netanyahu government to erect a
protective fence there as well. As they say in Tel Aviv, "That's a

* A TWO-STATE SOLUTION: Every day in every way leaders of Hamas and
the Palestinian Authority can be guaranteed to deliver a direct or
oblique attack on Israel. It could be the Abbas' United Nations threat
or some blather from Hanan Ashwari. As for the vitriol from Gaza; it
assure that there never will be a two-state solution since the boys
from Gaza want only one -- Jew-free!

* AMERICAN ELECTION: Ever since he entered the White House, Barack
Obama has managed not to visit Israel. Do not for a minute overlook
the significance of that omission. Despite a succession of unfriendly
moves aimed at Benjamin Netanyahu the Democratic candidate has
retained a substantial bloc of Jewish voters. He also has a lead in
the polls. Mitt Romney clearly would do more favors for Israel if
elected but, somehow, the latter's campaign has done little to
stimulate confidence in a Republican victory.

* CONTAINING IRAN: Over the past view years, Israel's attitude toward
Tehran is reminiscent of a fighter "shadow boxing" in the ring while
delivering no substantive blows. Meanwhile the mullahs aim to
construct a nuclear arsenal moves full speed ahead despite sanction
after sanction. Unless I'm missing my guess, the shadow boxing will
continue, ad nauseum, with no Israeli-generated attack against the
nuclear facilities. The bottom-line is that Uncle Sam won't allow it.
Unless of course the next White House resident is named Romney!

* SYRIA: Here's where a sardonic laugh is in order, directed at
virtually every journalistic sage. For months now the so-called media
wise men and women have predicted the fall of Assad. The Damascus
defections notwithstanding, The Mad Dictator has managed at least to
preserve power and enough of the armed forces to maintain his
leadership. The failure of Washington, Paris, London, or the European
Union to facilitate a solution will remain status quo ante.
the bloodshed will continue into the thousands.

* EGYPT: The Muslim Brotherhood's annexation of Israel's onetime ally
is as ominous as I figured it would be when it happened. Have no
illusions, Egypt will stir the Palestinians to new levels of

That's just for starters but it's enough to digest -- and throw-up -- for now!

I’m not one for predicting doom, certainly not when it comes to the fate of Israel.

On the other hand Israel never before has been confronted by a doom-inspiring American President who so egregiously distorts the term “Ally” when it comes to aiding the Jewish State.

Take the impending storm launched at Teheran as Exhibit A.

Iran is speeding towards nuclear armament; there’s no question about that. The question is clear -- will the ayatollahs have a bomb tomorrow the next day or next month?

No one knows for certain how far along that evil empire has progressed on its nuclear journey toward eventual Islamic dominance!

Leon Panetta, the White House Defense Secretary, certainly does not know although he absurdly claims that he does. Nor do the usually reliable Israeli intelligence agencies.

This is the frightening reality. Period!

The pervasive problem with intelligence is blatantly clear; it only goes so far. Most importantly, it is what a nation does with that knowledge after receiving it that counts!

The Obama Administration constantly has proven how poorly it understands Middle-Eastern intelligence.  That helps explain the avoidable death of American Ambassador Christopher Stevens in Libya!

Iran’s ally, Hezbollah, is in a weakened state. Meanwhile the combined Iranian-Hezbollah ally, Syria, is burning through a civil war conflagration with no end in sight.

Through this whole ugly mess, the Obama Administration sits and waits.

But for what?

If anything, Washington has been betraying one of the most ineffectual American foreign policies in world history!

What better evidence than the fact that Jihadists have infiltrated the Syrian conflict because of American indolence.

Along with Jihadists fighting alongside the Sunni Muslim rebels, Iran and Hezbollah  acknowledge putting boots on the ground to militarily prop up the Assad regime.

(Also, consider Russian/Chinese support for Assad. You can bet that Hosni Mubarak would have welcomed such bolstering from his American Brutus, Obama).

Every nation with a significant stake in the Middle East’s future has joined this Syrian poker game with one exception, the Good, Old, USA -- the country that most needs to be involved.

With those situations in mind, what options does Israel possess?

That might sound like irrational, military adventurism yet it would be right out of the book of one of the greatest armies in modern history! The IDF of the 1950s and 1960s.

It’s evident that Israel cannot count on America. The Obama Administration has nothing close to what is needed vis-a-vis Iran, Hezbollah and Syria!

Furthermore Israel has history to help determine its actions.

American President Dwight Eisenhower promised Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion that America and its Western allies would force open the Straights of Tiran if Egypt tried to blockade them to Israeli shipping.

This promise was given to Ben-Gurion after America nudged Israel out of the Sinai Peninsula right after it crushed Egypt in the Sinai Campaign of 1956!

This fallacy of that American promise was underlined when Gamal Abdel Nassar kicked United Nation peacekeepers out of the Sinai in 1967.

This led to an Israeli pre-emptive strike against Egypt and Syria and what we now call the Six Day War.

In June 1981, Israel was ignored by a world refusing to handle Saddam Hussein and his hopes for nuclear weaponry therefore, Israel carried out Operation Opera; successfully destroying the Iraqi nuclear reactor at Osirak!

Fast forward to August 2007.

Israeli intelligence hands over hard evidence collected by Israeli special forces of a Syrian Nuclear reactor built almost identically to that of North Koreas Plutonium Reactor (clearly not for peaceful use in North Korea). Some pictures of the reactor collected by the Israeli special forces had North Korean scientists in them!

One would have believed that Uncle Sam, orchestrated by a relatively friendly-to-Israel Bush regime would bomb the Syrian reactor!

No way.

Hence, Israel’s Operation Orchard, carried out September 6, 2007, destroying the Nuclear reactor completely.

One pervasive issue comes to mind: Israel must do what it has to when it comes to ensuring its survival and that of the Jewish Nation.

It never can become a South Korea or South Vietnam which depends on America to do its fighting!

Israel’s survival depends on deterrence.

Now more than ever Benjamin Netanyahu must approve a strike at Iran and Hezbollah.

Such a pre-emptive move would accomplish plenty for the civilized world.

It also would remind Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood and the rest of the Sunni Jihadists that Israel and the Jewish Nation are not to be trifled with!

The “Grandad Omelet” lives! Long live the Grandad Omelet!

Not only is the Grandad Omelet alive and well, currently exhibiting itself in the northern Golan Heights of Israel, but its fame has now spread over 9,000 miles!

The epicurean spread of this egg creation began several decades ago, when our New York-based family was vacationing with my mom and dad on Puget Sound in Washington State.

One Sunday morning my Dad was at the stove stirring chopped onions, potatoes in a huge cast iron fry pan. A multitude of eggs sat beside a large bowl and a small bowl, on the counter.

“What’s this?” I asked Dad, as he asked me to separate egg yolk and egg whites into the two bowls.

“Well, Margy’s kids call this a ‘Grandad Omelet’,” he replied, stirring onions and potatoes briskly, while adding a pat of butter to the mix. (Margy is my older sister.)

“Yum!” I exclaimed, as I began separating yolks from whites; I love virtually anything made with eggs -- especially omelets. Soon I was whipping the whites into stiff peaks, then slowly folding the seasoned yolks into the frothy whites.

The egg mixture was added to the pan, a lid placed over the whole thing, and gradually the mixture, now smelling wonderfully of onion and potato, began to rise and set.

When my dad considered the eggs done enough, and before they began to fall, he placed grated cheddar cheese over the top and placed the pan in a 350 (F)-degree oven, for the whole thing to melt then brown.

The Grandad Omelet then moved to California, Oregon and New York. Finally it jumped the Atlantic and Mediterranean to France and Israel.

I made one this morning, for  two guests visiting the kibbutz, my husband and our three grandchildren. As we sat there, with murmurings of “mashu, mashu” (“good, good,”, although literally translated “mashu” means “something!”) floating around the table, I thought about the mileage and cultural changes my dad’s omelet had undergone.

What had begun as a souffle-like variation of an American Western omelet had now been transposed into a Middle Eastern version one third of the planet away from it’s birth!

Sometimes Grandad’s Omelet is served here with hummus,  baba ganoush or avocado on the side or on top. Occasionally peppers are added to the potato/onion mix, and often the spices vary -- garlic out and zatar added.

The possiblities are numerous -- as long as I don’t allow my husband to do the cooking: he’s been “retired” since he served me scrambled eggs with grapefruit sections in them!

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if every difference, problem, misunderstanding or misplaced viewpoint could be solved, resolved or even erased with the simple addition or removal of an ingredient?

I’d love to see the concept of peace or true democracy travel as well -- and as far -- as my late father’s omelet has!

There's a civil war going on in Syria but with each day -- and a
conservative total of 22,000 deaths -- very few who should be caring a
great deal seem to be doing much about it.

As a matter of fact the daily Syrian bloodletting appears to boring for
the major news gatherers.

The Arab League has made no inroads.

Ditto for the United Nations.

Uncle Sam has been distracted by a Grade F movie -- if you can even
call it that -- that is critical of Islam.

Arab rioting against American embassies and assorted other favorite Muslim targets because of the flick has pushed the Syrian massacres off to the side.

Even the American election is getting more attention from television,
radio and newspapers than the endless Syrian death fields.

And yet the killing goes on daily, unabated with veiled threats that
the Assad regime soon will introduce chemical weaponry into the fray
but who seems to care?

Perhaps it's because Israel is not involved except to sit quietly on
the sidelines perhaps even wondering what gives.

What gives is this:

* UNITED NATIONS: If you didn't know it by now the fact that a less
effective body than even The League Of Nations cannot -- and has not
-- done diddly-squat about terminating the Damascus-inspired terror
tells you why the United States should stop wasting its money on the
impotent body on the East River.

* ARAB LEAGUE: Talk about a minor league, this bunch of oil-rich
rogues are good at three things: 1. Convening meetings; 2. Threatening
to raise oil prices; and 3. Insulting Israel.

* UNITED STATES: American politicians, who not-that-long-ago were
pumping Assad's grimy hand, might as well be asked to re-invent the
wheel because that would happen faster than any effective intervening
in Syria.

So the beat goes on along with the bloodshed.

Likewise, the higher the death count, the lower attention focusing on
The Arab Spring in Syria!

As easy as exhaling and inhaling the Middle East Arabs, Muslims -- all of militant Islam and supposed moderates as well --  incessantly call for the destruction of Israel and the killing of Jews.

They do it publicly, privately, in print and over the airwaves. Given an opportunity, they would shout it from every house top if not every mosque.

In between their gales of hate, the Arabs attempt to skewer history; denying the Jews their roots to Israel. The campaign to delegitimize the only legitimate democracy in the Mideast has been an offshoot of this venomous policy.

Make no mistake, Jews aren’t their only targets. Coptic Christians, Druse, Kurds and other minorities -- Buddhists in particular who were targeted by the Taliban -- have been victimized over and over again.

Judging by the “so what?” reaction of the so-called civilized world to all of the above indignities one would get the impression that such behavior is acceptable.

What it does indicate is that world-wide fear of Muslims and militant Islam has reached such an absurd point that a terribly-made film -- “Innocence of Muslims” -- has sparked riots throughout the Arab world.

The Arab/Muslim over-the-top reaction to a Grade-F movie is a glaring example of how Islam is neither the religion of peace nor a religion at all.

Rioting throughout the Muslim world over “Innocence of Muslims” proves that Islam is nothing more than a political movement.

More to the point Islamic leaders have managed to herd their followers like uneducated sheep. Islam-inspired rioting over a ridiculous flick merely is an extension of fascist, controlled, globalization!

Why is this so? If a relatively innocuous movie can push a billion people, on a global scale, to behave completely against the norms of society -- specifically killing and destruction -- we are witnessing a form of thought control heretofore unprecedented in our universe.

No less astounding as Islam’s volcanic reaction to the film is the timid, unmistakably fearful  position assumed by the Obama administration.

Instead of condemning rioting on the Egyptian and Libyan streets, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton apologized for “Innocence of Muslims,” calling it “disgusting,” as if such a review was necessary. How tepid a response; how mis-informed could the White House be?

What manner of response would have been appropriate from Pennsylvania Avenue?

A firm point should have been made to the Egyptian Government and its Muslim Brotherhood backers; in as loud a voice as possible:

BOTTOM LINE: Militant Islam is spawning a war with Uncle Sam while his head remains buried in sand. It is a global conflict, make no mistake about it.

As we write this the Muslim Brotherhood is calling for rallies against America following Friday “prayers.” This is the same MB that is running Egypt and accepting billions of dollars from Washington.

Enough of the mealy-mouth absurdities from Mrs. Clinton.

It’s time that the White House understands these facts of political life before free life, as we know it, is extinguished by rioting Islamists disguised by a slimy slogan called “Arab Spring.”

A streak of red, sputtering light tore into the darkening sky.

Was it fireworks? Was there a wedding taking place on the ridge above the Druze town of Masadé?

Suddenly across the ridge tanks and APCs (Automated Personnel Carriers) appeared, barreling along, throwing clouds of dust into the dusk. Then, a blast of light from one of the tank cannons and a loud boom.

No, it wasn’t fireworks; it wasn’t a wedding. It was the Golani Brigade “maneuvers.”

In other words, it was just another tense day on the Golan Heights of Israel, a few kilometers from the border with Syria. With threats coming from Hezbollah in Lebanon, to “conquer” the entire Galilee, civil war and genocide in Syria and rockets from Gaza raining down on southern Israeli towns, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) were now on a sort of perpetual high alert, along several borders.

This is life ... in Israel.

I have lived in the state of New York for half a century, and nearly every summer I have seen military convoys wending their way up the New York Thruway, to training areas deep in the Adirondack Mountains.

The passage of the convoys was as close as I got to seeing “military action!”

But watching simulated war and hearing the constant boom and buzz of artillery and helicopters is an everyday thing up here in the northern Golan Heights. There are at least four or five training areas within 10 or 20 kilometers of Kibbutz El-Rom where our younger son lives.

The state of Israel is roughly the size of New Jersey. Imagine, if you will, what life in Trenton, Newark or Hoboken would be like if the states of New York and Pennsylvania had vowed to wipe out New Jersey!

First of all, Giants Stadium and the whole Meadowlands area would be a military staging and training area. Tanks would be lined up next to rocket batteries, their muzzles pointing at the New York City skyline.

The bridges connecting Jersey to New York (including the borough of Staten Island) would all have armed checkpoints on each end of the bridges. Few people from Jersey would be allowed to go into or work in New York. There would be periodic missiles and rockets fired into New Jersey, with threats to demolish the state.

Morristown, Atlantic City and Montclair would be full of bomb shelters. The streets of every town would be filled with young men and women sporting M-16’s and Uzis as they sauntered along, laughing and exchanging quips.

Down in Trenton and other cities near the border with Pennsylvania, the same armed checkpoints and military bases would exist. In Atlantic City and other New Jersey shore towns there would be the periodic attempts to invade New Jersey by “peace” flotillas from Connecticut or Maryland.

There would be no such thing as a volunteer army, since every single young body would  be needed to defend the borders of New Jersey.

But would there be a New Jersey Symphony if the state were constantly under a kind of siege? Would the cineplexes, night clubs and gambling casinos function as easily and constantly as they do now?

The state of New Jersey, like the rest of the United States, has absolutely no clue as to what life is like in MOST of the rest of the world ... particularly in the Middle East ...  and definitely the state of Israel!

There are snubs and there are SNUBS.

Barack Obama has both down pat.

Early in the president's administration, he made his Israeli counterpart look a bit worse than bad when Benjamin Netanyahu came to Washington on an official visit.

But since the Democrat leader had only gotten the feel of his White House, the hostile attitude was dismissed in time although many Jewish voters have not forgotten the affront.

Nevertheless, as snubs go, that one was small potatoes compared with Obama's most recent exhibition of disgraceful behaviour.

With America's presidential election on the horizon and Democrat leaders desperately attempting to persuade their constituents that the Donkey's Party still likes Israel, what better occasion for Obama to prove that he wasn't kidding when he said that Uncle Sam "has Israel's back."

Thus, when Bibi requested a meeting with Barack during the latter's visit to the United Nations, it was expected that Netanyhu's wish would be granted.

After all, Israel is America's strongest ally (especially now with the images of a dead American Ambassador coming out of Libya seared into our minds) in the Middle East and, if anything, the leader of the Jewish State deserves a decorous greeting from the White House.

If those weren't significant reasons enough, the fact that this was Obama's opportunity to prove that he's at least some kind of friend of Israel should have been the clincher for their face-to-face meeting.

Incredibly, the White House betrayed its abject hostility to the Prime Minister and -- by its actions -- to Israel with a "Thanks but no thanks" response. All Obama could get himself to do was have a telephone conversation with his opposite.

The alibi?

Adding insult to injury the rationale was that the President's schedule was too busy to allow for a one-on-one at a most critical time in the history of both nations.

Now you have to wonder; how can the Jewish propagandists in the Democratic Party possibly defend such an obvious social-political affront?

Accidental? Hardly. Deliberate? Absolutely. How could it be otherwise.

By this time the president implicitly believes that he has the Jewish vote locked up on the grounds that American Jews genetically will vote Democrat -- and that's that.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister must know beyond a shadow of a doubt that once -- IF Obama is elected the White House will come down harder on Israel than any president since Jimmy Carter.

Thus, Bibi must be content with a phone call and, knowing, the president you have to figure that he called COLLECT!

WHO WE ARE, 2012

By Simon Fischler

Jew, here is a definition of the word from the Merriam Webster dictionary.

Jew-Pronunciation: \ˈjü\

Function: noun

Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French ju, jeu, from Latin Judaeus, from Greek Ioudaios, from Hebrew Yĕhūdhī, from Yĕhūdhāh Judah, Jewish kingdom

Date: 13th century

1 a : a member of the tribe of Judah b : Israelite

2 : a member of a nation existing in Palestine from the sixth century b.c. to the first century a.d.

3 : a person belonging to a continuation through descent or conversion of the ancient Jewish people

4 : one whose religion is Judaism

The first three definitions talk of a tribe, a people, a nation.

Because being a Jew meant being part of a tribe or nation long before it meant being part of a religion.

The religion called Judaism today is nothing more than the laws given to the Hebrew/Israelite/Jewish nation thousands of years ago to enforce discipline and create stability in a rustic herding culture as it transitioned and developed, much like laws are made today in parliaments the world over.

The definition of the word or name Jew has become so important in today’s world, but why?

For thousands of years other nations (mostly conquerors in search of expanding their empires) have bullied, persecuted, exiled and/or mass murdered Jews.

Jews have always existed within and among other cultures, as well as in their own lands, with a code of conduct which takes precedence over any other.

Hence, the Greeks enslaved and killed us because we turned our back on Greek culture.

The Romans, because we rebelled against them, went so far as to destroy our country and capital city, rename both of them and transplant a majority of the Jews from Israel to Rome, attempting to erase us from geographical history.

The Arabs invaded us, colonized our land and built their Dome of The Rock and Al Aksa Mosque on our Temple Mount.

The Eastern Europeans carried out pogroms in which thousands, if not millions of Jews were killed.

The German Empire finally tried to extinguish us completely from the world during the Shoah / Holocaust.

In all of these cases above we were persecuted and killed because we were the Jewish nation – a people apart, with its own code of conduct, no matter where we lived -- not the Jewish religion.

We were the nation to reject or rebel against the new, in-culture, then we became the nation that killed Christ (A Jew).

Today’s revisionists try to deny, whitewash or ameliorate most of these irrefutable historical truths.

The word Jew comes from the Greek word for Judea, the Jewish Kingdom that was an integral part of the Israelite Kingdom.

Judah was head of one of the twelve tribes of Israel, offspring of Israel, father of the Israelites or Jewish people.

However, today’s Jew-haters and anti-semites are doing all they can to say we are no longer a nation, that we do not deserve to be a nation, that if we were to be a nation we’re in the wrong place, or that if we are indeed a nation, we’re a human rights abusing, colonialistic, apartheid one.

After thousands of years of killing us because we are a nation, today’s revisionist anti-semites wish to take this integral part of our identity away from us.

Why do they want to take this away from us?

Because Jews have a unified code of conduct that is thousands of years old and deeply connected to the land of Israel.

Because after thousands of years of Jews hoping, praying and trying, they have finally achieved their long sought after goal, the State of Israel, with its capital city of Jerusalem.

To Jew-haters and anti-semites, the Hebrew/Israelite,/Jewish and now Israeli people/nation are standing up to today’s new “cool” cultures: Fanatical Islam, Fanatical Leftism and Fanatical Rightism – all with threatening nuances of Fascism and all bad copies of our friends the Nazis!

Worst of all for the anti-semites is that this new found self-determination of the Jews has given their nation an army to fight back with.

This army, the IDF, has dealt all anti-semites a major blow.

For the most part they can no longer get away so easily with bullying, persecuting and killing Jews.

They, (Arab/Muslims especially) have tried on many occasions to militarily wipe this new incarnation of the Jewish nation off of the map of the world.

In all cases they have failed.

Only a few still believe they can militarily destroy Israel.

Instead, these haters have turned their focus to a new realm, that of delegitimizing Jews as a nation and their deserved right to Self-Determination and statehood.

Now these fanatics wish to once again turn the Jew and his new nation into a pariah by using many of the same techniques of the past but just flip-flopping them.

The biggest fallacy of them all is the accusation that the Jew has stolen the land that makes up Israel; that the new nation is simply an instrument of the colonizing Europeans.

This is what the Arabs, Far Leftists and Far Rightists all claim.

The truth is simple, though. Jews have always been living in the land that is Israel today, plus in the contiguous area known as the West Bank. We may not have always been the majority, thanks in great part to the true colonizing forces (Greeks, Romans, Arabs), but the same can be said for Tibet.

Jerusalem has always been a majority Jewish city and is mentioned 669 times in the Tanach; not once in the Koran.

Jerusalem has always been the most sacred and holy city for the Jewish Nation.

When the Romans sacked Jerusalem in the year 70, history tells us there were close to, or more than, a million Jews killed.

How is that possible when the population of Jerusalem was so much smaller?

When Titus laid siege to Jerusalem on the 14th of April in the year 70 C.E., it was the holiday of Passover. During this time, much like today, Jews flocked to Jerusalem from all over the Roman world because of its integral importance to the nation.

As mentioned before the word Jew comes from Judea, Judah, the nation and Kingdom of Israel.

Arabs come from Arabia, which is nowhere near Israel or Jerusalem.

Arabs themselves have always been the true colonizers, making it all the way to Spain in their attempt to conquer the world.

Many secular Jews outside of Israel are not taught the history of their nation.

If we do not know who we are and what our history is, how can we defend ourselves against today’s enemies, particularly in this current war of words and name-calling?

These secular Jews hear the words, sometimes eloquent, sometimes persuasive, of the Jew-haters and anti-semites and think Israel may be wrong, maybe shouldn’t exist, or perhaps is just as bad as things are described.

We are not even seven decades removed from the Holocaust and today anti-semitism rears its head all over the world.

Leaders from around the world -- Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran -- constantly spew anti-semitic rhetoric. Ahmadinejad has even called for Israel’s destruction and threatened her with nuclear war.

Voices of the self-hating Jews, such as American academics like Noam Chomsky and the world leaders named above, are doing untold damage to Israel, in an existential sense.

In short, the naysayers currently are winning “The War of the Words .”

It is time for us to return to our roots, to remember who we are as a nation and to fight back against the de-legitimizers -- the anti-semitic, anti-Israel haters.

All those who would defend the nation of Israel, raise up your dictionaries, wield your history books … and fight!

By Schmoel Yitzhak

The worthy citizens of Israel's South may not know what "Fatigability
Of The Olifactory Nerves" (hereafter known as FOTON) is all about but
they certainly are experiencing it first-hand.

And it ain't funny either, unless you happen to be a card-carrying
member of Hamas or any of its splinter terrorist organizations.

By "South," I'm referring to Netivot, Sedorot, Beersheva and any Negev
area which has been targeted over the past few years by rocket attacks
from Gaza.

They are all victims of the FOTON syndrome which means if you're
embedded long enough in garbage up to your neck long enough, your
olifactory nerves (nose) hardly smells it anymore, if at all.

So it has been in Sederot, Netivot, et. al. where so many Qassam and
Grad rockets have struck that explosions are almost taken for granted.

There are exceptions, of course, as in the latest grad attack that not
only demolished a Netivot home but also hit Beersheba forcing school
closures -- sound familiar? -- and will surely produce the knee-jerk
IDF retaliatory attack against Gaza terrorist bases and/or rocket

Were Israeli lives not constantly endangered and large blocs of the
South not justifiably traumatised these regular Arab declarations of
war -- and precisely what they are -- could be shrugged off as routine
Hamas' intimidation tactics.

And that seems to be government policy; until a major,
death-producing, Gaza-based rocket assault occurs, the Benjamin
Netanyahu-Ehud Barak leadership will turn the other cheek after the
Israeli Air Force shoots up one of the enemy training bases or rocket

To an objective visitor from another planet, the Israeli response
would seem somewhat to the left of futile. If an intelligent Martian
observer viewed the episodes and could speak English, he would address
the Jerusalem high command with two words: "ENOUGH ALREADY!"

If asked how the American government would react if Canadian-based
rockets rained down on his native state, a tourist from Montana most
assuredly would reply that Uncle Sam by now would have devastated any
neighboring country that has done to the USA what the Gaza rocketeers
have done to Israel.

Guaranteed the governments of Yitzhak Shamir, Menachem Begin and Golda
Meier never would have waited so long without a devastating reply.

Hey; you and I know that neither Bibi nor his sidekick are fools nor
are they bashful about retaliation. Therefore we must conclude that
the general staff continues playing a waiting game in terms of going
after the Gaza goons. Surely, it must be a political reason somehow
linked to Iran, the American election; you name it.

But that doesn't do much good for the children in the Israeli South
who routinely are told they are not going to school today, tomorrow or
the next day because of another rocket attack.

Nor does it help the shell-shocked citizens of Sdeort, Netivot and Beersheva.

Fatigability Of The Olifactory Nerves may apply to garbage which
happens to be less devastating than an exploding Grad missile.

One of these days, Netanyahu and Barak will get the message and blast away

But, alas, when?

By Simon Fischler

Have you ever experienced the blast of a 155mm shell when it hits the earth?

Sadly most of the world condemning Israel have no concept of what an artillery shell can do; they also have no concept of what Israel is capable of, militarily.

Ignorance of military hardware and a military’s capability becomes a major problem when you ignorantly wish to call Israel a country that is committing “ethnic cleansing.”

I have experienced and survived a car bomb in Jerusalem.

I was half a block away at an ATM machine when the car exploded in the neighborhood of Talpiyot.

The car the bomb was in was -- luckily for me -- up against a retaining wall and next to but not on a major thoroughfare.

The bomb was still powerful enough to hurl me through the air into the ATM machine.

The bomb I survived in Jerusalem is nothing in comparison to an artillery shell.

If Israel actually chose to commit ethnic cleansing either on Gaza or the West Bank, there is nothing Hamas or the PA could do. The IDF, which has the best artillery gunners in the world, could flatten Gaza without sending in a single soldier. The fact is, we would never do to the Palestinians what Arab leaders do to their own citizens.

Same goes for the inaccurate lies about white phosphorus being intentionally used against civilians in Gaza.

I will repeat it, the IDF artillery gunners are the best in the world.

If they wanted to actually use white phosphorus strictly as a weapon, the videos and pictures the world saw on media outlets would have shown the shells exploding much lower instead of high up in the air as was clearly seen.

This again has to do with the complete lack of military knowledge on the side of the general public.

They do not know that a great gunner can time a shell to explode literally right above the ground, which would be the best result, if you wanted to use white phosphorus as a weapon.

This is not the public’s fault: we cannot expect the general public to seek information or search for the facts; it is far easier to believe what is beamed into your head.

It is the fault of organizations like CNN, BBC and other media organizations that have been totally bought off by the Arabs and insidiously attack Israel, no matter what.

All one needs do is watch CNN or the BBC: the commercials they run will show who is really running the show: virtually nothing but Arab-owned and/or run companies advertising.

This is why they have a very clear, malicious, anti-Israel (meaning anti-Semitic) sentiment.

The same goes for the New York Times.

This newspaper has been run by fervently self-hating Jews since Arthur Hays Sulzburger.

A great example of this was the Times refusing to publish an opinion article by Richard Goldstone retracting his statements of Israel committing war crimes, crimes against humanity or genocide in Gaza.

Richard Goldstone is only important to the Times if he is speaking perniciously against Israel.

CNN, BBC, the Times and other organizations which claim to be objective or centrist will also go out of their way to blame Israel for the outcome of the Goldstone Report, claiming that if Israel had only worked with the UN team led by Goldstone the outcome would have been different.

This is nothing more than a load of garbage.

The United Nations has proven itself in general to be incapable of protecting true human rights or condemning the true perpetrators of crimes against humanity and genocide.

Furthermore, the UN is run by the same oil-wielding Arab nations who have tried so hard to destroy Jewish self- determination.

Asking Israel to work with an anti-Semite like Sir Richard Falk is just plan asinine and the same as asking a woman who has been raped to work with the man who raped her.

Speaking of rape, the Palestinians, the UN and the EU appear to think Israel is going to passively accept yet another attempted rape of the Jewish nation.

That is the sole intention of the delegitimization of Israel, the Pro-Arab stance of Europe and the UN: to rape the Jews yet again.

Today’s colonialist empires -- the Arab/Muslim front, Iran, EU and UN -- like their predecessors, the Assyrians, Greeks, Romans, Arab/Muslims and Crusaders -- seek to weaken Israel and destroy her.

Working along with these anti-semitic institutions are many modern day Hellenistic or Romanized Jews -- only today we call them self-Hating Jews.

They, like their masters, will do anything to make Israel look bad so they can fit in -- just as the Hellenistic and Roman Jews of old did.

Those who make the mistaken claim that Zionism (Jewish self-determination in our land) is a new concept born out of the 19th and early 20th centuries are dead wrong. We Jews have been saying “Next year in Jerusalem” since long before the birth of Mohammad.

It makes no difference how they come: anarchists, left wingers, right wingers, conservatives and liberals; those who stand against Israel are nothing more than anti-semites.

These days are indeed dark, but our nation has faced dark times at many points in her history.

The Jewish Nation has faced these times before and we are still here in our homeland.

We are facing some of the most heinous anti-semites we have faced, but we will prevail ... as the Hebrew, Israelite and Jewish nation always has.
